Commitment to a SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT is a significant component of assessing the Black Empowerment credentials of an entity.
FSG's commitment to BROAD-BASED BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT finds expression in FOUR areas:
FSG has elected SKILLS DEVELOPMENT and JOB CREATION as the priority objective of our corporate social responsibility project. Our CSS SERVICES, TPT and RAF CLAIM DEFENCE FORENSIC INVESTIGATION service products provide FSG the perfect opportunity to contribute to SKILLS DEVELOPMENT and JOB CREATION. To render these services in a manner that is efficient, effective and value-adding (in the form of minimizing our fees by establishing local resources in every place in South Africa to render these services), FSG has recruited, trained and appointed TRACER FIELD AGENTS ('TFA') for the purposes of attending to the field work components of our CSS SERVICES and TPT service, and to perform our ROAD ACCIDENT DEFENCE CLAIM FORENSIC INVESTIGATION. FSG has appointed (or is in the process of appointing) TFA in every Magisterial District of South Africa.
For THE PROJECT to achieve its objectives FSG needs (and is getting) the support of ATTORNEYS WITH A DEBT COLLECTIONS PRACTICE/DIVISION, REGISTERED DEBT COLLECTORS, CREDIT PROVIDERS, FINANCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS, the RECOVERIES FUNCTION OF MVA RISK INSURERS (together referred to as DEBT COLLECTORS), and the ROAD ACCIDENT FUND ('RAF'):
THE PROJECT recruits previously disadvantaged persons in every Magisterial District (for deployment in the Magisterial District in which they live) who we assess to have the aptitude to perform the work of TFA. Preference is given to unemployed persons who do not have any specific skills but who at least have a matric qualification and basic English and computer literacy skills. For Magisterial Districts that incorporate densely populated urban areas, we appoint several TFA for the purpose of establishing their own TFA SERVICES business. We then enroll them in THE PROJECT and provide training in the following areas:
FSG then assists successful participants to establish their own TFA SERVICES small businesses, to whom FSG then sub-contacts the field work components of our CSS SERVICES and TPT services, and the performance of our RAF CLAIM DEFENCE FORENSIC INVESTIGATION instructions, which TFA perform under the guidance of FSG, with the support of FSG's national infrastructure, and the benefit of FSG's experience and expertise. As the volume of instructions from FSG to its TFA SERVICES sub-contractors increases, TFA SERVICES will need to employ assistants. THE PROJECT therefore creates opportunity for self employment AND employment.
Historically, for reasons of financial sustainability, service providers who render the equivalent of FSG's CSS SERVICES, TPT services and RAF CLAIM DEFENCE FORENSIC INVESTIGATION are based in urban areas and have to travel to rural/remote areas to perform these services when the subject of such instructions live/work in rural/remote areas. THE PROJECT creates a national TFA SERVICES infrastructure (that rivals that of the Sheriff's of the Court) that creates resources in these rural/remote areas and eliminates the travelling/out-of-town expenses that service providers raise to clients. In the case of the RAF, for example, such expenses comprise as much as one third of their fee to the RAF.
Furthermore, as the principals and employees of FSG's TFA SERVICES small businesses will live and work in these rural/remote areas, they will spend their revenue in such areas. The result will be capital injection into the local economy of such areas - which is precisely what drives the development of poorer communities.
