FOREIGN PENSIONER TRACING ('FPT')

FSG is currently retained by the German State Pension Fund to trace their state pension fund beneficiaries residing in South Africa under circumstance that:

bullet They have not had any communication with a pensioner for some time and they require confirmation that the pensioner is not deceased.
bullet It has come to their attention that one of their pensioners residing in South Africa has died, but the fact only came to their attention several months after the event, such that they disbursed pension payments to the pensioner for several months after the pensioner died, and their intention is to now recover pension overpayments. FSG is instructed to identify the Master's Office where the pensioners Deceased Estate is registered, to identify the Executor of the pensioners Deceased Estate, and to negotiate with the Executor on behalf of the German State Pension Fund to refund overpayments. (FSG does not actually collect any money from anyone, as this would result in a conflict of interest in respect of our clients who collect debt. All we do is facilitate the collection process.)

FSG was secured this work in 2010. The German State Pension Fund found us. They informed that they previously used the resources of their South African embassy in South Africa to provide for these requirements, but that this proved to be inefficient and too costly.

FSG realises that there are numerous other countries who have a significant number of their citizens who are beneficiaries of their state pension funds - and of other benefits - who reside in South Africa, and these countries have the same requirement as the German State Pension Fund. Consequently, we are currently approaching the state pension funds of a number of countries to offer to provide a similar service. However, we post this page in the event that a person associated with the state pension fund (or any other form of foreign state funding) of another country is either searching for a service provider for this purpose, or happens to stumble across this webpage. We also request that if you read this and you are a party residing/employed in South Africa who is associated with the state pension fund - or other state/government funding - of a foreign country that has a significant number of beneficiaries residing in South Africa, or if you are an employee of a South African embassy of a foreign country, that you will inform relevant persons of the availability of this service of FSG.

The service can be implemented in two ways:

bullet On a needs basis; as and when the need arises FSG can be instructed in respect of specific beneficiary.
bullet On a retainer basis. If a foreign country were to provide FSG a list of their pension/other fund beneficiaries residing in South Africa, we can periodically check Government Gazette publications (we subscribe to all of them in an electronic, searchable format) for the registration of deceased estates and other deceased estates notices, to immediately notify the foreign country in question of the death of any of their pension/other funding beneficiaries.

A reporter was interviewing a 104 year-old woman.
"What," asked the reporter, "Do you think is the best thing about being 104?"
Without hesitating the old woman answered, "No peer pressure!"
